FAQ's.
You're bound to have some questions and we hope to answer them all. Here are some that are frequently asked.
Do you just help first time buyers?
Nope! We help everyone regardless of whether it is their first or sixty-first property purchase.
Are you a buying agent?
Yes essentially we are, however with a twist! This is why we call ourselves "buying advisors." Unlike pretty much all buying agents out there, we don’t charge astronomical fees which often make the service untenable for many. There is no way to sugar coat it, the cost of buying a property is already expensive! Our aim is to make this crucial service available for many.
Why use Privee?
There are many obstacles and tricks to look out for when buying a property. Estate agents work the seller, not the buyer, and so have their interests at heart. This is especially apparent when it comes to negotiating (not just to get their fee up!) Buying a property can be a minefield and what you can find on the internet can come across as long winded and jargon! Having someone in your corner can save you time, stress and money!
How much do buying agents charge?
Most buying agents charge between 1.5%-2.5% of the purchase price, which makes this service generally for the wealthy few. We are different! No fancy suits, no waffle and no extortionate fees!
Why do you keep your charges low?
One main reason, because buyers need help, regardless of wealth.
Do you attend viewings?
Unfortunately not. This is one of the reasons we are able to keep our fee low. We do however speak to the estate agents, conduct due-diligence on your behalf and make sure we are armed with as much information as possible to help negotiate your purchase.
How do your fees work?
We charge our fees in two increments; a retainer fee once you agree to sign up with us, and a completion fee which is only due once you complete your purchase.
Why do you charge a retainer fee?
Basically it shows commitment from both parties. You have paid for a service - we deliver. We also know that you’re serious about buying a property, which helps at the time of negotiation.
If my purchase falls through, do you still charge a completion fee?
No we don’t. It is not fair for us do so.
Regardless of whether the purchase falls through just before exchange of contracts or not, we don’t charge the completion fee until you complete on the purchase.
Can you recommend mortgage advisors?
Yes, certainly. We have a great relationship with our recommended mortgage advisors, which can help smooth the way for your property financing. By using our recommended mortgage advisors, we do get a referral fee from them, however we share this with you by keeping our completion fee low! 👍
Can you recommend Solicitors?
Absolutely! It is key to have a good solicitor on board when you’re buying a property. Solicitors play a crucial role in your exchange/completion, due diligence and in getting contracts signed as soon as possible. By using our recommended solicitors, we do get a referral fee from them, however we share this with you by keeping our completion fee low! 👍
